6 Program Components

Our program’s six components are the keys that open doors to many life opportunities for the children here at the beautiful Blue Lagoon who would otherwise not have them. This lower socio-economic status agricultural community lacks access to information and educational resources that many of us take for granted. Children in this remote area rarely have the opportunity to explore the world, so we bring the world to them through you – our international volunteers and Amazon Volunteering’s six program components.

I have been asked many times, “Why six components? Isn’t that too broad to manage?” My answer is that all volunteers have different life passions, experiences, and educations to share. Similarly, all of our students have different interests and unknown talents that can be discovered and nurtured. The program’s six components create an atmosphere for both volunteers and the students we serve to learn and explore an unlimited array of focuses while exchanging cultures.

Believing that all children should have equal access to information and education, our goal is not simply to teach English but to expose the children to a variety of life options. This exposure leads them to the confident realization that they can go anywhere and do anything in this world with hard work and guidance.
